Fr. Ignatius’s Symposium on St. Elisabeth of the Trinity – Aug 8-11, 2024
Saint Elisabeth of the Trinity, pray for us!
I think lay Dominicans interested in a retreat event or more spiritual/intellectual formation would benefit from this St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Contemplative Symposium at St Joseph’s Seminary at Dunwoodie in Yonkers, August 8-11. Attached is a flyer.
On the landing page, people can find the option to register for all four days or just for a single day. As the schedule shows, Friday and Saturday will be full days and worth a longer drive to attend. It goes the whole day with three meals provided. I would be willing to drive 2 hours for such a day event and I’d even drive 10 hours to attend such a 4 day event.
Here’s the landing page, where people can register. Scholarships are available up on request as you register. https://www.dominicanhouseofprayer.com/stelisabethtrinitysymposium2024
Here are a couple short videos advertising the event:

I’m open to there being a table with information about joining the lay Dominicans if anyone wants to take advantage of this opportunity in this way. There will be many there inclined to such things. Just let me know so I can clear it with the rector, Bishop Massa.
Otherwise please say a prayer for the fruitfulness of the event. Thanks!
In the hearts of Jesus and Mary,
In Saint Dominic and Catherine,
Father Ignatius

“They poured out a whispered prayer” (Isaiah 26:16). It is a contemplative repose that demands all to be poured out and a silence where all is said. It is like Jesus who “tells us gently yet openly about the Father” (parrhesia peri tou patros apaggelo), in a wide-open whisper (John 16:25). It is like the silent, dark night of Christmas where all speaks and all is bright; and we too pour out a whispered prayer.
