Portland, Maine Lay Dominicans Resurrection Chapter #109

About Us
Members of the Fraternities of St. Dominic are lay men and women who are fully incorporated members of the Order of Preachers and live out their Dominican vocation in the world. Through the Four Pillars of prayer, study, community, and apostolate we work to preach the Gospel and grow in personal holiness. You can learn more about the Lay Dominican life here:

Dominican Spirituality
Dominican Spirituality calls members to certain obligations, when possible according to their state in life, which include:
- Participating in daily Mass
- Daily praying some portions of the Liturgy of the Hours, with a minimum component of Morning and Evening Prayer
- Daily recitation of the Rosary
- Daily reading and reflecting on Sacred Scripture
- Monthly reception of the Sacrament of Reconciliation
- Frequent and ongoing study of matters pertaining to the Church, the world, and their apostolate
- An annual retreat, either on their own or with other members of the Fraternity
Our Apostolate
The Resurrection Chapter of the Lay Fraternities of St. Dominic, St. Joseph Province, recognizes the plight of persecuted Christians and refugees at home and abroad. We seek to help such groups and individuals by providing direct assistance, offering prayer, and making known their struggles and plight.
