About Us

Members of the Fraternities of St. Dominic are lay men and women who are fully incorporated members of the Order of Preachers and live out their Dominican vocation in the world. Through the Four Pillars of prayer, study, community, and apostolate we work to preach the Gospel and grow in personal holiness. You can learn more about the Lay Dominican life here:

Dominican Spirituality

Dominican Spirituality calls members to certain obligations, when possible according to their state in life, which include:

  • Participating in daily Mass
  • Daily praying some portions of the Liturgy of the Hours, with a minimum component of Morning and Evening Prayer
  • Daily recitation of the Rosary
  • Daily reading and reflecting on Sacred Scripture
  • Monthly reception of the Sacrament of Reconciliation
  • Frequent and ongoing study of matters pertaining to the Church, the world, and their apostolate
  • An annual retreat, either on their own or with other members of the Fraternity

Our Apostolate

The fraternity apostolate leads others to Christ through virtual group studies in faith formation, which are open to parishes in the area and those who live at a distance. During the Fall and Spring, we offer various study programs from Catholic educational organizations like Ascension Press and the St. Paul Center. Past studies have included Luke: The Story of Salvation FulfilledA Biblical Walk Through the MassThe Bible and the Blessed Virgin Mary, and The Eucharist in Scripture.
The fraternity apostolate also commits to praying for the end of human trafficking, asking God to bring freedom, healing, and justice to those affected by this crisis. We strive to raise awareness and promote a culture of life and dignity for all.
