Dear Friends,
We’re excited to begin the new series of 2025–26 MIDDAY RETREATS WITH THE MYSTICS starting tomorrow — Saturday, September 20 — with St. Elisabeth of the Trinity!
The day will begin at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers, NY, with Mass at 11:00 AM, followed by a one-hour conference talk by Fr. Ignatius John Schweitzer, OP on St. Elisabeth, before we enter into guided meditation before the Blessed Sacrament based on her writings.
We’ll conclude with a social at 3:00 PM with light refreshments and a Q&A. You’re welcome for the entire day or any portion your schedule allows.
If you know you’ll be coming, please RSVP via Eventbrite to help us plan for catering.
Mark your calendars for the remaining Midday Retreats this season. They alternate monthly between St. Joseph’s Seminary, Yonkers (ample parking) and St. Catherine of Siena (411 E. 68th St) in Manhattan.
Our October 11 Midday Retreat will be at St. Catherine of Siena in Manhattan, featuring St. Thérèse of Lisieux, continuing the graces of the August 1–3 Contemplative Symposium. If you missed it—or want to revisit talks—recordings are here.

It’s been a long time coming, but worth the wait: NAMED FOR GLORY: Saint Elisabeth of the Trinity’s Identity and Mission by Julie Enzler, STL, Fr. Ignatius John Schweitzer, STL, and Anthony Lilles, STD is now available!
“I am going to bury myself in the depths of my soul, that is, in God. Will you follow me in this very simple movement?”
— St. Elizabeth of the Trinity
St. Teresa of Avila taught that every soul is made for transforming union with God. In her footsteps, St. Elizabeth of the Trinity (1880–1906) invites you to rendezvous with her in the interior castle and experience the indwelling presence of the Holy Trinity.
Go out into the deep: My Three, my All!
- Live the freedom of silence and recollection while fulfilling daily duties.
- Offer your life to God by uniting yourself to Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.
- Deepen prayer to welcome the Holy Trinity’s indwelling presence.
- Let go and cling to God with the intimacy of a contemplative gaze.
- Imitate Mary as House of God, Praise of Glory, and Host of Praise.
- Enter the “Furnace of Love” with St. Elizabeth’s Oblation to the Trinity.
In these pages, St. Elizabeth unveils the union you were made to enjoy through Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs and Gate of Heaven. Reflecting on her name and vocation as Virgin, Spouse, and Mother, she invites us to the universal call to holiness so that our lives flow into God’s very life—and His life flows into ours. By imitating Our Blessed Mother in her deep simplicity and making little acts of love and sacrifice each day, we unite with Jesus in the Sacred Host, become living oblations, and glorify our Crucified and Risen Lord.
Your feedback on Named for Glory is appreciated—and reviews on Amazon or elsewhere help spread the word.
“I had never understood so well the Mystery and the whole vocation in my name. I’ve given you to the Three… Yes, it is in this great Mystery that I keep my rendezvous with you. May He be our Center, our Dwelling Place.”
— St. Elizabeth of the Trinity (Letter 113 to Guite)
